Review: Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation Stick | 7BearSarah

by 7BearSarah

Wow! It has been ages since I've uploaded anything on this blog. I want to make a point of updating my blog regularly as I love blogging. Cross your fingers that I stay on track!

Today, I have a review for you guys on a new foundation that has been making the rounds here in the beauty community: The Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation Stick.

IMG_1006.JPG

There are fifteen shades to choose from ranging from a pale ivory to a deep chocolate and everything in between. There are warm, neutral and cool shades. One of the downsides is the price tag. At $43, it is the most expensive foundation in my arsenal currently, but [SPOILER ALERT] as it is wonderful, I don't mind paying a hefty price for it.

I have mine in the color 115=R230 Ivory. (I'm usually around an NC15 in MAC foundations, for reference).

The coverage that I get with this foundation is insane (in a good way)! I have had issues with acne and acne scarring for forever, so I was grateful to MUFE for creating a foundation that covers these imperfections without feeling heavy and mask-like. In fact, the coverage is so amazing, I don't even apply concealer on my zombie-esque dark circles (a result of my insomnia and Internet addiction) anymore!

Overall, this is an incredible foundation for those of you who want a full coverage, long-lasting, non-cakey, non-mask-like complexion. I highly recommend it.

Like every other person shamelessly addicted to watching beauty videos on YouTube, I have seen millions of reviews on this palette. For good reason too: it's gorgeous!

In terms of packaging, I think this palette is cumbersome. Albeit gorgeous, it won't be easy to travel with.

High End Cheek Product Haul

by 7BearSarah in ,

Luxury face products are something I always have my eyes on when I walk through Sephora, but never actually purchased. That is, until recently.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in "Pink Quartz" ($44 at Sephora): This is one of the most beautiful highlighters that I've ever set eyes on. It has this gorgeous gold-pink shift to it that I think will compliment almost any look.

IMG_0720.JPG

Becca Mineral Blush in "Gypsy" ($32 at Sephora): This is a really soft cool-toned pink. It almost has a hint of lavender in it. I love the formula of Becca powder products. They are super smooth and finely milled.

IMG_0724.JPG

Becca Mineral Blush in "Sweetpea" ($32 at Sephora): This is what I would define as a darker neutral Blush. I, personally find that on the skin, it looks similar to MAC "Warm Soul". I love the formula of Becca products. They are super finely Milled, which makes blending a dream.

What has been your favorite high end cheek product as of late? Tell me in the comments!

Kat Von D Limited Edition Studded Kiss Set

by 7BearSarah

As a self proclaimed lipstick addict, (seriously, ask any of my friends....I have a problem) when I saw this set on Sephora website, I needed it.

This set includes nine 0.04 oz lipsticks and retails for $39 at Sephora stores and online.

IMG_0890.JPG

Countess is a red with a strong orange undertone. This color is extremely opaque. It isn't usually a color that I normally gravitate towards (I normally go towards blue-toned reds), but I'm excited to come up with a look for this one.

Agatha is a peachy nude. This color is extremely nude (even on my very pale skin). I have mixed feelings on this one.

Sorry about the blurriness. This was really difficult to photograph for whatever reason.

Adora is a metallic golden red (this is Sephora's description. I had a really hard time trying to describe this). I have plans to use this in a celebrity inspired tutorial that I'm filming tomorrow and this should be perfect.

IMG_0903.JPG

Sexer is a fluorescent pink. This was not the most flattering color on my skin tone (in my opinion).

Wonderchilde is a gorgeous metallic lilac with a blue duochrome. I cannot wait to wear this one.

Bachelorette is a raspberry pink. This color is such a Sarah color. So up my alley!

Motorhead is a classic black cherry color. Through experience, I have found that these colors look TERRIBLE on me. I love the way they look on other people, but it's just not my thing.

Lovecraft is a matte mauve pink. This is the classic Kylie Jenner lip everyone and their grandma is after right now. This particular lippie is extremely creamy and opaque. LOVE!

Hexagram is a blood red. This is very much in the family of Old-Hollywood reds that are so classic.

What is your favorite color in this set? Tell me in the comments.

What's in My October 2014 GlossyBox?

by 7BearSarah

Long time, no post!! I have been out of town for the past few weeks to help take care of a family friend. All is well now and I am back home in Texas.

I would normally film a video showing everything, but as I am very late to the party on this one, I thought a blog post would be better.

Nails Inc. Westminster Bridge Matte Top Coat: (retails for $10) a few years ago, I was really into matte top coats. As I've gotten older I've grown out of it. That being said, I'm not sure how much use this will get...

Vince Camuto Amore Eau De Parfume: (retails for $78) As far as floral fragrances go, I'm usually not a fan, but this one has some woods-y touches such as amber and sandalwood, which I really appreciate. I do however, wish that this bottle had a spray on it as it would make it much more convenient.

Sesha Botanical Hydro Mask: (Retails for $9). I don't know about you, but I LOVE sheet masks. This one contains cucumber, green tea and marigold. After being away for two weeks, my skin was desperate for some love. Honestly, my only complaint is that the cloth is a bit too saturated which causes it to slide around the face which gets really annoying after a while. It made my skin feel so good!

Proganix Anti-Fade Weightless Argan Oil + UV Protection: (Retails for $11.99) I am in love with the original formula from the same line. It makes my over-processed hair feel hydrated (and adds shine too boot!). I'm not sure what the difference between the two is, but I love the original, so why not?

IMG_0842.JPG

Tarte Cosmetics Power Pigment in "Awakening": (Retails for $24). I am so excited to see a Tarte product in my box! I have never tried a Tarte lip product before, but these have gotten a ton of buzz. The color I got is a neutral pink with a brown undertone (it's in the "Kylie Jenner lip color" family). It has a gorgeous shiny finish. I cannot wait to wear it!

That's everything! I think this box was much better than last month's. I will talk to you in my next post. xoxo, Sarah

My Current Skincare Routine (& A Bit of an Update)

by 7BearSarah

Hello! So, I have been missing from the blogging and vlogging scene for a little bit. The reason being, my brother recently got married (YAY!) so my parents and I were up in Illinois helping with last minute wedding plans. It was an insane week therefore I felt as though I needed a few days to catch my breath and relax. Excuses, excuses....

Anyway, I wanted to write up a post about my current skincare routine. I did make a video pertaining to this topic, so if you're interested in seeing the products I will mention in action, click here

For reference, I have combination to oily skin that is very acne prone. Although, since I started using all of these products together, I don't get much acne at all.

To take off my makeup, I use Bioderma Solution Micellaire on a cotton pad. My skin got significantly better after I completely cut makeup wipes out of my routine.

My theory is that when I was only using makeup wipes, I wasn't getting everything off my face, which led to acne. I even use Bioderma (which you can buy on Amazon for $31.50 here) when I'm either having a lazy skincare night or I got home really late or something of that nature. This does a fantastic job at removing makeup WITHOUT stinging my sensitive eyes.

To cleanse my face, I use the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser ($20 at Sephora). It is formulated for sensitive skin, which I appreciate because my face can air on the sensitive side at times. I usually cleanse my skin twice with this. Now, this may seem excessive, but I feel as though my skin feel cleaner if I cleanse twice. That's just me though.

I feel as though the superhero skincare product, so to speak, for me is the First Aid Beauty Blemish Patrol Pads ($30 at Sephora). I have only had a small handful of breakouts (which were purely hormonal) since I started using these. They are also marketed as an oil control product, which I highly appreciate.

And last, but certainly not least, for moisturizer, I use the Korres Greek Yogurt Advanced Sleeping Facial ($45 at Sephora). This is a very lightweight cream that sinks into the skin pretty quickly without feeling greasy. I wake up with glowing, soft skin.

That wraps this post up. What products are you currently using as a part of your skincare regime. Let me know!
